4 Days Samburu And Lake Nakuru Safari

Samburu Game Reserve is located along the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro River in Kenya’s arid northern region. This hot and dry area is marked by its rugged hills and expansive plains. Despite the harsh conditions, the Ewaso Ngiro River, with its abundant shade trees, draws a significant amount of wildlife. Details

Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu National park

Depart from Nairobi in the morning, traveling through the agricultural farmlands on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Arrive at the semi-arid, open savannah plains of Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch. Afterward, embark on your first thrilling game drive in the park. In the evening, return to Ashnil Samburu Camp, Sarova Shaba, Samburu Sopa Lodge, or a similar accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 2: Samburu National Park

Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a full day of game viewing with a picnic lunch in the park. This park is renowned for its Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, gerenuks, beisa oryx, and an array of big game including elephants and lions. In the evening, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Samburu/Lake Nakuru

After an early morning breakfast, check out of the camp with a packed lunch and embark on a scenic drive west across the Lerochi Plateau. Descend to the Great Rift Valley floor and continue south to Lake Bogoria, known for its stunning scenery and the majestic pink flamingos. Enjoy your picnic lunch amidst this beautiful setting. Next, head to Lake Nakuru to witness more waterway inhabitants and millions of flamingos. Lake Nakuru National Park features a Rhino sanctuary and offers opportunities to see other wildlife such as lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, and hippos. In the evening, check into Lake Nakuru Lodge or a similar accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru/Nairobi

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and travel back to Nairobi, stopping along the way to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley. An optional boat ride on Lake Naivasha can be arranged before reaching Nairobi in the late afternoon. You may choose to have lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant before being dropped off at JKIA for your flight home.
