Amboseli National Park, located at the base of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most renowned national parks. Situated 150 miles southeast of Nairobi and near the Tanzanian border, the park is dominated by the stunning, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds.
Conclude your day with dinner and overnight accommodations at one of the hotels mentioned on day one. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo East National Park

Following breakfast, travel to Tsavo East National Park, renowned for the infamous man-eating lions that nearly halted the construction of the Kenya-Uganda Railway. The park is also home to Lugard Falls, the Yatta Plateau, and large herds of elephants, rhinos, and Hirolas (Hunter’s hartebeest), among other wildlife.
Tsavo East National Park, covering 11,747 square kilometers, is the largest protected area in Kenya. It is a sanctuary for Africa’s “Big Five” – black rhinos, Cape buffalo, elephants, leopards, and lions. Despite its vastness, the park’s sparse vegetation and flat terrain make wildlife spotting easier. One of the park’s unique features is the Tsavo lions, whose adult males typically lack manes. The film “The Ghost and the Darkness” depicts the story of Tsavo’s notorious man-eating lions that terrorized workers during the construction of the Kenya-Uganda railway in the late 1800s. Notable attractions within Tsavo East include Mudanda Rock, the Yatta Plateau, and Lugard Falls.

Day 4: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, proceed to Tsavo West National Park, one of Kenya’s larger parks, covering 9,065 square kilometers. The park is divided from its counterpart, Tsavo East, by the Nairobi-Mombasa highway and railway line. Tsavo West’s landscape is characterized by its dramatic contours, vivid desert colors, springs, and the surprising presence of wildlife emerging from the scrub. The park’s diverse scenery ensures an exhilarating experience throughout your personalized Kenya tour, following in the footsteps of Africa’s legendary explorers and indigenous tribes.
Tsavo West National Park is home to over 60 species of mammals and more than 400 bird species. It is renowned for its stunning landscapes, including the Mzima Springs with its underwater hippo viewing point, the Shetani lava flow, and the scenic Lake Jipe and Lake Chala in the southwest.
The park features vast savannahs interspersed with dark volcanic lava beds, ancient baobab trees, and lush oases nourished by underground springs. Visitors can observe giraffes feeding on treetops, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos, particularly at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary. Additionally, the park hosts smaller species such as bush babies, hartebeests, dik-diks, lesser kudus, gerenuks, and impalas.

Day 5: Tsavo West - Nairobi

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Nairobi. You have the option to have lunch at a city restaurant (arranged and paid for independently). You will then be transferred to the airport in time for your flight home.
