DAYS 7, 8 & 9

Commencing with a delightful breakfast, the journey leads to the coastal gem of Hermanus. Nestled at the southern tip of Africa, Grootbos stands as an eco-sanctuary amidst the most biodiverse plant kingdom on Earth, boasting spectacular marine life. This area is celebrated for the “Marine Big 5” – migrating whales, great white sharks, dolphins, seals, and penguins. Guests are invited to enjoy a wide range of activities while also having the opportunity to savor some of the finest Pinot Noir wines the region has to offer.

Positioned at the core of this exquisite natural landscape, Garden Lodge is embraced by meticulously tended fynbos gardens and indigenous trees. The array of activities available includes whale watching (seasonal), guided walks and hikes, flower safaris, horseback riding, bird watching, scenic flights, and quad biking, ensuring an immersive experience in this unparalleled setting.

RECOMMENDED EXTENSION

Nestled within the majestic Drakenstein (Dragon Stone) Mountains, the serene Franschhoek Valley offers breathtaking views and a multitude of highlights for those who choose to extend their stay. It’s a perfect place to relax, unwind, and fully immerse oneself.

The valley is renowned for its exquisite charcuterie, olives, cheeses, and more, all produced in the heartland of the country’s most esteemed wine producers. Established 300 years ago by French Huguenots, their long-standing tradition of French winemaking has today resulted in an impressive variety of fine cultivars. Guests are invited to explore at their leisure and taste a selection of noble varietals, each presented by vintners in their uniquely magnificent settings.
