The journey continues at Serengeti Safari Camp, an iconic mobile camp known for tracking the migration. The camp offers a blend of effortless comfort and adventure; its walk-in tents are generously sized, equipped with full-sized beds, a dressing area, eco-friendly flush toilets, and safari bucket showers. For communal gatherings, the camp features a shaded dining tent, complete with comfortable couches, an extensive bar, a library, and a cozy fire for the cooler evenings.
During game drives, guests can explore the Serengeti’s expansive plains, encountering lions, cheetahs, and other predators amidst the wildebeest migration. The drives offer up-close experiences with zebra and gazelle herds and, depending on the season, the chance to witness mass birthing events or the dramatic river crossings at the Mara.
DAYS 6, 7 & 8
Nestled among the Kogakurla kopjes in the northwest of the Serengeti, Nomad Lamai lies a mere stone’s throw from the Mara River, positioning it as an ideal spot for observing the dramatic river crossings. Often overlooked once the migration has passed, the area remains a hotspot for extraordinary wildlife throughout the year. This includes prides of lions, buffalo herds, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and an impressive array of over 300 bird species.
The camp itself is masterfully designed to blend into the rocky landscape, creating a seamless integration with nature through a combination of light canvas and plaster. Each of the beautifully designed open-fronted tented rooms offers expansive views of the Serengeti wilderness, enhancing the immersive safari experience.
